Syntactic dependencies
Source: This example was compiled by the WebAnno team.
A syntactic dependency is a relation between two words in a sentence with one word being the governor and the other being the dependent of the relation. Syntactic dependencies often form a tree.
WebAnno supports the annotation of syntactic dependencies as relations between part-of-speech annotations.
The CoNLL 2006 shared task was tackling the parsing of syntactic dependencies. The file format used by the corpora of this shared task cover part-of-speech, lemma, morphological features, and of course syntactic dependency annotations. Many other corpora are available in this format as well.
WebAnno directly supports importing and exporting annotations in the CoNLL 2006 format.
